WHAT is INDICASAT AIP? HOW have we become the most competitive Panamanian scientific research institute in the country? WHERE do we hope to be in the future? All these questions and more are answered in our strategic plan 2017-2027.
The goal of this plan was to be concise (17 pages) and direct, with information useful to those within the institute and anyone on the outside interested in learning more.
A strategic plan is meant to be used and adapt when necessary. For comments and questions on this document please contact Kim Portmess: firstname.lastname@example.org
We identified the following AREAS OF PRIORITY in research:
Each area outlines how our projects are directly linked to the fundamental needs of society.
The four KEY COMMITMENTS form the pillars of everything we do at the Institute.
INNOVATE: Lead Panama to the frontier of science through the generation of new knowledge and fundamental discoveries to bolster the health sector, strengthen agroindustrial quality and safety, conserve and use in a sustainable way our natural resources through basic and applied research.
EDUCATE: Serve as an interuniversity platform for scientific innovation and bilingual higher education for future generations of Panama’s educators and innovators.
COLLABORATE: Create an interinstitutional meeting space between academia, international consortiums, public institutions and commercial sectors of the country to boost the scientific and technological progress of Panama.
SUSTAIN: Ensure the long-term viability of the Institute by protecting its autonomy, maintaining and growing its infrastructure, and recruiting high-quality staff with a commitment to maximize investment in scientific research and development for the benefit of national interest.
Goals, Strategies, and Indicators for achieving each of these commitments.
