Dr. Rao is on the Editorial board member of 20 journals. He has guided 20 Ph.D and 8 postdoctoral fellows. He is on the International review board of Parkinson disease association UK, France Mental health grant program, Department of Biotechnology, India. He is on the Panel committee member on Stem Cell Research Protocols in India-2009-10. He is the Fellow of National Academy of Sciences (India), Linnaean Society (UK), Association of Biotechnology and Pharmacy (Singapore). He is the guest editor for two special issues of journals on Alzheimer´s disease. He has international collaborations with scientists in USA, UK, Italy, Germany, Taiwan, Japan. He has published 120 papers and 6 book chapters.
